American Artifacts
American Artifacts is a division of American Antiquities, Inc., established 1974. We do business via the Internet, Mail Order and major artifact shows. American Artifacts publishes catalogs with high quality investment prehistoric North American artifacts for purchase or trade. Our policy: We do not handle sensitive material, or modern reproductions.
We have authored numerous articles on authentication, reproduction and fraud. Over one hundred articles have appeared in: The Ohio Archaeologist, Central States Archaeological Journal, The Redskin, Prehistoric Artifacts of North America, Artifacts, Prehistoric Antiquities Quarterly, and Prehistoric American.
American Artifacts was first to publish a book on the subject of frauds and reproductions. Entitled American Indian Artifacts, genuine or reproduction; this 304 page book features authentic bannerstones, gorgets, birdstones, pipes, pottery, axes and flint projectiles as compared to similar reproductions and frauds.
We offer opinions of value and professional appraisals. Our director is a member of The Appraisers Association of America, headquartered in New York city. Our appraisals are accepted by most Insurance Underwriters.
American Artifacts is highly respected for Authentication services. Our specialty is bannerstones, pipes, birdstones, gorgets, discoidals, etc. plus flint from the Ohio Valley and the midwest.
